The Mom Memo No. 59: Gear Up For Spring Break

Hey Mama

With spring break approaching, we’re strategizing on how best to keep our kids occupied, whether we’re having a staycation or traveling to a far destination. Here are our top three tactics:

Let them help plan.
We love to let our older children research the destination or find an activity to do at home or in our local community. Trip Advisor has led us to unique places we wouldn’t have known about otherwise!

Empower them to organize and pack.
Whether it’s turning packing into a treasure hunt or involving them in making a list of essentials, involving your kids in the process empowers them while traveling to near and far destinations and helps them feel responsible for their belongings. These packing cubes are our favorite to help our kids separate clothes, toiletries, and souvenirs during a trip.

Have puzzles and games at the ready.
This travel journal and activity book has been a lifesaver on previous trips, including puzzles and games as well as journal prompts to keep littles occupied. And Mad Libs might be old-fashioned, but creating silly stories never fails to make our kids giggle.

What is your favorite way to keep kids entertained while traveling? We want to know!
