School is in session (hooray!), but there are always a few fall holidays when kids are home with an abundance of free time. This Labor Day make it a goal to get outside and explore a local state park or nature preserve. Here are some of our favorites around the Des Moines metro. Have a favorite nature spot? Mental Load Reduction Reminder: This is your sign to book a fall family photo session and senior pictures! Make the plans now, especially if you plan to take pictures outside. Aim for the second or third week of October to capture the changing leaves.
