The Mom Memo No. 29: Start Your Back To School Prep
Hey Mama
It’s going to happen, ready or not, the first day of school will arrive in a few short weeks and this will be the year we all are fully (ish) prepared! We’re here to help, and as a community of moms, we’re doing it all alongside you. Here are a few tips to start prep this week:
- Choose one task or habit each of your children could learn and do independently to support their morning routines. Talk with them about the goal and train them on what to do. For example, a 9-year-old can be responsible for getting their own breakfast, so start to learn that process now before school officially starts!
- Take 15 minutes to do a quick inventory of the kids’ closet to get a general idea of what items you’ll need to shop for this year. That way, when Instagram inevitably serves you an ad for the exact product you were thinking of, you can buy it quickly and feel confident you need it.
- Take 5 minutes to check last year’s backpack — no need to shop quite yet — your only task is to clean it out and assess if you need a new one!
